A New & Improved Hypnosis Seminar?

New?  Maybe.  Improved?  Definitely, if you are talking about the hypnotist's profit!

I admit it, the local hypnotist was doing his yearly seminar rounds and I just had to sneak by to see what was what.  Now keep in mind that I personally had been to see this very same hypnotist over fifteen years ago, so I am speaking from experience as well, but things sure have changed.  The hypnosis seminars used to be advertised as ‘Stop smoking in one evening.’  Not any more apparently, but we’ll get to that in a moment.

I couldn’t just hang around outside the doors as there were three ladies guarding the inner sanctum, but it just so happens that this conference room has an unobstructed window from a tropical courtyard and my hearing is excellent.

What I heard absolutely blew my mind.  The hypnosis session was over and now came the real selling, and unfortunately for those attending, the scare tactics with it.  In order for the seminar to be REALLY effective, attendees were informed they should purchase further materials in order to bolster their confidence.  This would be fine if it only cost a few dollars or they were told of these things up front.  No, scratch that, it is not fine.  These people were promised a result that they had already paid near a hundred dollars for.  Why should they have to pay more?  Especially when the additional material costs nearly double the seminar fees if you took everything they offered.  It’s not right.

And adding to the injury, the up-sells were presented with scare tactics.  ‘If’ the people didn’t acquire the up-sell product immediately (and at a specially discounted price) then the hypnotist couldn’t ‘guarantee’ long term success.  What kind of support is that?  Where did the stop smoking in one evening promise go?

It’s true, the basic program comes with a so called lifetime guarantee, but what good is that when the follow up session is only available one night every year?  As we said before, this type of behavior is just preying on the desperation of smokers who want to quit.

Remember, we feel that hypnosis is a fantastic relaxation tool and therefore would wholeheartedly recommend a stress relief version, but to prey on the desperation of smokers is deplorable.  Especially when these same poor people had already fronted the money to come to a hypnosis session which they had placed their faith in only to hear that more was required.

No, I’m afraid we won’t play that game here at End the Habit.  What we promise is what you get – everything we list in the program.  This includes the audio CD, the program guide, the supplements, and unrestricted access to the support forum for as long as YOU need, not when it is convenient to us.

Spend your money wisely.   You cannot beat a 10, 20 or 30 year habit in one evening.  If it were that easy, wouldn’t we have all done it already?
